Scheming for our Misery

Without Hope

A discouraged woman,, slumped over a closed black piano.

Satan wants you miserable and exhausted and joyless and undone. ((Priscilla Shirer)

The main battle is in our mind. Rejoicing in our current blessings instead of grumbling about what we don’t have is God’s command. But it’s also a good choice. Why? Because practicing the spiritual discipline of daily thankfulness produces a great deal of inner joy.

Need some help?

Here’s 3 things I’m grateful for.

  • Indoor Plumbing – I’m very glad I don’t have to visit an outhouse during cold, rainy nights or any other time for that matter..
  • Glasses – I just took off my glasses and couldn’t even read the larger letters on my post’s latest meme.
  • Air Conditioning – Yay!

So what are you grateful for? Share something unusual and help me expand my list.

Why does God give me an impossible task. He even tricked me when I asked for a sign.
I arrived at my destination and the door was closed. While I can see the goodness I can’t taste it. Nothing but horrific pain. Why?

I don’t know why. Lord, please work in this person’s circumstances and in their heart. Walk beside them and give this person beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3 NIV)
