My 2019 Scripture Memes

Many of these memes were created in the last few days. If you find a favorite meme, feel free to share it.

My New Memes

A tunnel of prison "ribbon wire" designed to cut up and trap any escaping prisoners.

“Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” (Proverbs 29:25 NIV)

Having a fear of what other people think of us is like crawling through this tunnel of prison wire; we get badly cut up by other people’s negative opinions of us, no matter what we do.

Two matches setting fire to as small candle.

“Without wood a fire goes out; without a gossip a quarrel dies down.” (Proverbs 26:20 NIV)

This proverb reminds me of another verse (James 3:5-6) which compares the human tongue to a fire. And speaking of fire, my next meme features an active volcano.

The rim of an active volcano at night with the words, "You believe that there is one God. That's fine! Even the demons believe that and tremble with fear." (James 2:19 ISV)

“You believe that there is one God. That’s fine. Even the demons believe that and tremble with fear.” (James 2:19 ISV)

I featured this fiery meme in a recent post I did, called “Even the Demons Believe.”

A woman wearing a pretty blue scarf wrapped around her head and face, standing in the desert.

“She gave this name for the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” (Spoken by Sarai’s slave, Hagar Genesis 16:13 NIV)

No one notices a slave girl, but the Almighty did. Hagar’s first encounter with God is one of my favorite posts. Please read “You are the God who sees me

A shaft of sunlight shines down into a cave.

“In Him was life and that life was the light of all mankind.” (John 1:4 NIV)

After searching several pages of images, I finally found what I wanted; a shaft of light entering a darkened cave. Jesus’ light entered our darkness and we have been permanently changed.

A raven on the ground with a small piece of bread in it's beak.

“…hide yourself by the brook Cherith…I have commanded the ravens to feed you…” (1 Kings 17:3-4 ESV)

Elijah’s life depended on doing exactly what the Lord told him. While hiding from Queen Jezebel and King Ahab, the prophet experienced three years of supernatural provision. I especially like the ravens bringing him bread and meat each morning and each evening.

Birds don’t act this way. Have you ever seen gulls fighting over scraps of food?

A man walking the beach, using a metal detector to search for treasure.

.”..give me neither poverty not riches, but give me only my daily bread.” (Proverbs 30:8 NIV)

Because of TV and movies we often drawn into thinking about wealth in an ungodly way. The world stirs up our greed. Check out verse 9 to understand why someone wrote this proverb.

Can you pray this prayer and mean it?

A Muslim man praying to Allah on the desert sands.

In that day Israel with be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.” (Isaiah 19:24-25 NIV)

When I looked at a map of the ancient empire of Assyria, it covered most of the Middle East. In chapter 19, Isaiah’s prophesy states that a large part of the people living in these lands will start to worship Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

The rocky mountain El Capitan from a distance.

“From the end of the earth, I will call to you, when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” (Psalm 61:2 WEB)

IF a rock is stable, a granite mountain is even more so.

Silhouette of a woman standing before the sunrise, snapping her chains.

“Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32 NIV)

God specializes in helping us break free of the past.
