Please Don’t Take the Bait
“If you think sin is fun, you’re looking at the bait.” (M.H. Puccini)
The Final Result
Satan despises each one of us. He’s also the Prince of Lies. The Devil’s only goal is to destroy what’s good in our lives. Baiting us into a sin-filled lifestyle is his main tool.
As a society, we see this destruction most clearly in drug addicts. Because drug addicts often lose everything, including their freedom. Others end up homeless, always chasing their next “fix.” Even the people who successfully hide their drug addiction still damage key family relationships.
Any sin we indulge in is destructive, but often we don’t notice. We are, unfortunately, the Devil’s best assistants. He may offer the poison bait, but we’re the ones who choose to swallow it.
Another thought? The slower our sin ensnares us, the better the Devil likes it.
Sometimes we won’t feel the pain of our “barbed wire prison” until decades later. But it’s always the final result when we choose to “take the bait.”
God loves us and He hates sin; this man’s image shows the reason why.
