Facing Tough Problems
“A faith-building prayer: Lord Jesus, you’re the only one who can…” (M.H. Puccini)
A Garbage Bag Full of Discouragement.
A couple of days ago, I found myself struggling in prayer. My friends’ problems hadn’t budged. Some suffered from chronic health issues. Others urgently needed an extra source of income.
Yet it felt like the enemy had dumped an invisible garbage bag of discouragement all over my soul.
I didn’t seem to have faith to pray for anything.
But I knew what to do next.
When my Faith Tank’s on “Empty”
I understand a core spiritual truth and it’s this; the Trinity is the source of every drop of faith I have.
Because I once had none.
Early in my life I stopped believing God existed. I proudly proclaimed myself an atheist at 13 and didn’t become a born-again Christian until I was a sophomore in college.
So when my faith tank’s on empty, I go to the Source. Because when I ask for more faith, the Holy Spirit always fills me with a fresh supply.
My New Prayer
Worshiping in church on Sunday, I suddenly received a new prayer to start praying.
Lord Jesus, you’re the only one who can…
To me this saying is packed with strong, living faith.
In seven short words I remind myself: of my Lord’s limitless power.
I may be helpless and weak, but there is nothing in this world my Savior cannot do.
So how does Jesus renew your faith?
