Leonard Ravenhill’s Words
“You can’t live wrong and pray right.”
A Key Truth
As we mature in Christ, our prayers change. How we pray becomes much less self-centered.
The Holy Spirit softens us and we start to mirror God’s heart. Our trust in Him increases. Faith deepens. We start to want what God desires.
The Scripture promises us something special when we reach this point.
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
The Problem with Sin
The opposite is also true. When Christians start going after a sinful lifestyle, we no longer see clearly what God’s will is.
Should I be blunt? Sin stops up our spiritual ears, blinds our spiritual eyes and turns us stupid.
You can’t live wrong and pray right.

Leonard Ravenhill died in 1994 at the age of 87 but he wrote a Christian classic, Why Revival Tarries. link
Ravenhilll was an evangelist and preacher during America’s last great awakening. As a boy, he remembered his church holding all-night prayer meetings, crying out to God for the salvation of the lost and God answered.
There is no book on planet earth that has stirred me up to pray more.
His writing reminds me of a modern-day prophet, calling his people to repentance.
