Our Delivery is Everything
We need to speak God’s truth in Jesus’ voice.
As Christians, we are called to speak the truth in love. But so often we error in two different ways. We sometimes speak God’s truth in a way that’s harsh, angry and condemning. Or we don’t share God’s truth because we fear rejection.
In the Lord’s eyes, both are unacceptable.
Jesus never treats sinners harshly–and all of us are sinners. Instead, he truly loves people, mirroring God’s nature. Yet Jesus also speaks truth to us with great boldness.
I’ve discovered that when my inner heart attitude reflects Christ’s, truth comes flowing out of me in a loving way, and that’s vitally important.
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. (Ephesians 4:15 NIV)
