An Interesting Insight.
“Being a sinner does not disqualify you from following Jesus. It’s a prerequisite.” (Andy Stanley)
I love this quote by Andy Stanley, because it’s so true.
According to the Macmillian Dictionary, here’s what “prerequisite” means:
something that must exist or happen before something else is possible
The Worst of Sinners
For many years during the 1700s, John Newton lived a drunken, cruel and violent life as a slave trader. His soul’s condition? Corrupt and defiled. Yet Christ claimed John as His own and rescued this man from spending eternity in Hell Eventually Newton became a English clergyman, who wrote the hymn “Amazing Grace.”
When Jesus’ Enemies Spoke the Truth
The only type of people entering Heaven will be repentant sinners. Cleansing us of our ugliest sin and giving us a second chance at life is Jesus’ specialty. For He’s our great Redeemer.
What did His enemies charge Him with? They accused Jesus of being “the friend of tax collectors and sinners.” (Matthew 11:19 and Luke 7:34 NIV)
Yes He is.
