An Empty Life
If you only do what is easy, you will always remain weak. (Joyce Meyers)
Why this image? Because there’s nothing easier than being a passenger in a hot air balloon, peacefully floating above the earth’s surface.
But metaphorically, life-long passengers in balloons don’t accomplish much.
Our Lord is calling each of us to live a life that is greater.
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10 NIV)
Joyce’s simple saying hit me between the eyes. Too often I chose the easiest path. But it may not be the direction God wants me to travel.
It also doesn’t prepare me for the tasks ahead.
