Wise Words from Mother Theresa

A Heavenly Perspective

Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin. (Mother Theresa)

To the little nun of Calcutta, sick and dying people were never an inconvenience or embarrassment. Like her Master Jesus, she would notice them when no one else did.

Once in foreign country, she was standing on a train platform. Another nun stood by her side. Suddenly Mother Theresa darted into the crowd. A man had fallen onto the tracks and was in danger of being killed by an incoming train.

Mother Theresa grabbed hold of him, but she was too weak. Instead of lifting him up, he was dragging her down. Fortunately other bystanders leaped in and pulled them both out of danger.

Other people, including the other nun, hadn’t noticed the man’s peril.

But Mother Theresa did, from across the room.
