I needed to share both of these verses to show why the writer wrote as he did. It remains a challenging prayer for many Christians to pray. Frankly, I struggle with it too.
Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent and discerning if they hold their tongues. (Proverbs 17:28 NIV)
Do you know how hard it is to find a convincing image of “a fool” that no one would be offended by? It’s pretty tough. So when I found this image of Uncle Fester and Lurch from the old “Adams Family” TV show, I was very happy. The tall butler, Lurch, seems less foolish to me, but that’s because he hardly speaks.

Wisdom sometimes comes in unexpected packages.
Yoda, the hidden Jedi Master in the second Star Wars movie, was a twist no one saw coming. Luke never imagined his “Great Jedi Warrior” would be a little, green-skinned alien who hobbled around with a cane. In addition to everything else, Yoda taught Luke humility.
If you have a humble heart, God can speak to you using anyone, even a small child. Or a donkey.

Today, kindness is a bright light in the deepening cultural darkness which surrounds us. We reflect Christ the clearest when we show unexpected kindness.
“In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth. The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork and Israel my inheritance.” (Isaiah 19:24-25 NIV)
These exciting verses are starting to come true. Jesus has begun to give Muslims dreams and visions to bring them to Himself.
These two verses speak of salvation for the Jews as well,
Personally, I’m also praying for a rich harvest from the gay community.
Believer, can you pray this prayer? “…give me neither poverty nor riches…”
Praying this prayer in Proverbs 30:8-9 can be a little hazardous. What if God decides to answer?
